Audition??! help, please!?
Well, a song I know you could do is %26quot;A Whole New World%26quot; from the Alladin movie. Now, for a monologue, try searching for a Shakespeare one. I actually have no idea if there is one or not, but I%26#039;m sure William came up with something. If not, just look up some monologues for girls on google or yahoo. I am 100% positive you will find one. Oh, and good luck! :)
Audition??! help, please!?
How about you sing A whole New World? If that isn%26#039;t allowed then:

1. Home from Beauty and the Beast

2. Much More from the Fantasticks

3. Anything from legally blonde

4. Part of your world from the Little mermaid......

here is a monologue:

( this is for a guy....just take out all the parts that are for guys and replace it or fully take it out and say it how you think it would read if it were for a girl)....this is also dramatic...don%26#039;t do it in a comedic way...actually don%26#039;t do any monologue in a comedic way for Aladdin.

Danny: Hi Mom, how%26#039;s work? Do you think we%26#039;re going to stick around this time? I sure hope so, I feel like I%26#039;m starting like this school..Hey I made you some supper...would you like something to drink with it? (Beat) Great! (Timidly) Hey Mom? You know, since we%26#039;ve been moving around, I hadn%26#039;t really had a chance to make any friends, and I was wondering if I could borrow twenty dollars this Saturday, to take out this girl I met a couple of days ago at school. I haven%26#039;t really asked her out yet, but she seems pretty nice. She actually took the time to get to know me. I figured maybe you could spare a little, since we don%26#039;t go out all the time. (Beat) What! Why not! Well how about ten?....Not even ten dollars, it%26#039;s NOT like I ask you for money every day!....I don%26#039;t get it, have I done something wrong? Have I disappointed you in some way. I mean, it%26#039;s not like I sit around on my butt all day watching television or ditch my chores...I go to school every day, maintain a 3.2 grade point average, while moving all over the darn state, and after school, I go to work washing dishes five nights a week at that greasy restaurant....I never complain and I never get paid!....And you know why?....Tell me mom, why don%26#039;t I have any money?! Because I give it all to you, I don%26#039;t see a red cent...and to tell you the truth, I don%26#039;t think I%26#039;ve ever remember cashing one of my own checks...they go straight from my hand to yours, I never get a penny!...I%26#039;m sick of begging for my money, I%26#039;m sick of having to help you make ends meet!....It%26#039;s over, you hear me! Just give me two more years, when I graduate I%26#039;m out of here!....GONE FOR GOOD!...NOT COMING BACK!...DO YOU GET IT! I want to cash my own checks!....When I%26#039;m hungry, I want to buy myself a hamburger, and if I see a girl I like, I want to be able to take her out....I think I deserve that, I think I deserve to enjoy life like everyone else! I hate you and I%26#039;m tire of helping you live out your pathetic life! (Beat) What!...Well say SOMETHING (Pause) Mom....Mom....Mom I%26#039;m sorry...Did you hear what I just said? I%26#039;m sorry...Please, just don%26#039;t cry I can%26#039;t take it. Mom you know I would never really leave you by yourself....I got a little angry...I%26#039;m sorry. Hey, why don%26#039;t we go to the store and rent a movie instead, and I%26#039;ll pop up some popcorn...Wouldn%26#039;t that be fun? We could rent one of those comedies that you like...I love you Mom...I%26#039;m sorry.
Reply:songs

%26quot;I can hear the bells%26quot; - hairspray

%26quot;good morning baltimore%26quot; - hairspray

%26quot;much more%26quot; - the fantastics

%26quot;i don%26#039;t want to show off%26quot; - the drowsy chaperone

%26quot;colors of the wind%26quot; - Pocahontas

%26quot;disneyland%26quot; - smile

GOOD LUCK!
Reply:i wouldn%26#039;t do a whole new world because first- it%26#039;s a deuet, and secondly it%26#039;s not polite in theater etiquite to audition with a song from the play, although most places don%26#039;t care-

as for other songs i%26#039;d try:

- i could have danced all night (from my fair lady)-especially if you%26#039;re good at singing high this is a great show off song:)

-on my own (from les miserable) -this is lower

-not that girl (from wicked)- this is simple but pretty

-somewhere over the rainbow(the wizard of oz)

-till there was you(the music man)- another really high one, but it%26#039;s really pretty if you%26#039;re a soprano

i have a teen monolouge book i found at barens and nobles, they have a bunch there

good luck! post if you get the part!
Reply:If it%26#039;s the version with the Disney songs, then sing a song from something else Disney - Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King, Mary Poppins, Pocahontas, just don%26#039;t use High School Musical. You could also sing something from Little Shop of Horrors as Alan Menken wrote the music for both that and Aladdin. If it%26#039;s not the Disney version, you want something in the same style as the music for the show - there are a bazillion versions of Aladdin out there so I can%26#039;t be any more specific, sorry!
